Our Approach
The Company
PV Housing Ltd is responsible for the running and upkeep of Porter's View. We are a family run business with the objective of providing carefree living for our tenants. Our goal is to offer independence, with the confidence that all the day to day issues of running and maintaining a property and its surroundings are taken care of.
Our Story
History of Porter's View
Formally No.15 Garden Village, the site was occupied by local business owners Cyril and Hazel Porter for nearly 50 years. In 2014 the opportunity arose to develop five exclusive and fully maintained bungalows for those over 55, in the memory of Cyril and Hazel Porter. Plans for the bungalows were drawn up, and the name of the property was changed to Porter's View and assigned its own postcode.

Designing and Building Porter's View
From the outset it was decided to design and build the bungalows to a very high standard, above that of modern new developments. To start the project off, plans were drawn up by a well-respected local architect with a reputation for excellence. See Architect details here.
Work began in late 2015 and was completed in early 2018, using the most modern building materials and techniques available, and labour from Tean, Cheadle and the surrounding area. With every stage meticulously planned and quality checked, it was clear during the construction that we would achieve the high standards we aspired to.
As one local contractor followed another, they could see the quality of the work done and knew they would be judged by whoever followed them. It was a great place to work, with an emphasis on quality over all else, and the result was five bungalows that all those involved could be proud of.
In the end, the quality is demonstrated in the Sound and Pressure Testing which exceeded all expectations by quite some margin. Government figures show less than 1% of properties score an Energy Efficiency Rating of A, which is a score of 92 or above. Bungalows 3, 4 and 5 all scored between 98 and 99, far exceeding even the highest of modern standards - no statistics are available for scores in this range.
What Makes Us Different
Retirement should be about enjoying life, not worrying about cutting the lawns, managing the gardens or maintaining your home. For us, it's also about maintaining independence with the knowledge that everything is safe, secure and help is available if the need arises. That is what we do.

Siȃn
Property Manager
Siȃn joined the Porter's View team in early 2018 as our Property Manager. Her caring and helpful nature make her perfect for the job and a wonderful ambassador for PV Housing. It's Sian's job to make sure everything is running smoothly on Porter's View and that our residents are happy, so you will see her on site on a regular basis and she will be your first point of contact should you need anything.

Steve
Project & Maintenance Manager
After acquiring the site in 2014, Steve project managed the building programme from design through to completion. He has been involved in every aspect of Porter's View and now looks after the maintenance of the bungalows and the site. Normally on site several times per week, he will organise help when you move in and can normally be found working with Ben.

Ben
Maintenance Team Member
Ben has been working on Porter's View since January 2015. Although his background is in gardening and horticulture, he was on site throughout the building programme working with other contractors, so has an in-depth knowledge of the bungalows. Always available to help, Ben is a real asset to our community, looking after the gardens and performing general maintenance.
Our site manager Siȃn visits every week and is contactable 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Our maintenance staff and gardeners are also on site regularly to offer help and ensure the bungalows and their surroundings are maintained to the highest possible standard.
We are a family business who care about our tenants and will help in every way possible to ensure they enjoy a carefree retirement.
